We are happy for you to contact our Headteachers directly to learn first-hand how it feels to be part of our family. Our schools relish the opportunity to speak about their autonomy, the freedom to make their own curriculum choices, and the individuality they retain whilst being part of Humber Education Trust.
Our Values and Ethos
We are Humber Education Trust.
Our strength lies in a common purpose: high aspirations, moral values, care and support; yet celebrates our individual uniqueness. This is inclusion in its truest sense. We recognise that as every child needs different things to achieve the same end point, their full potential, so too do the schools that nurture and develop those children.
One size does not fit all.
Our commitment stretches across the breadth of our community with children firmly at the heart of all that we do. We are outward looking, embracing links with other education providers and agencies as we all seek the best outcomes for children.
We believe in innovative staff development opportunities at all levels, so that our teams enable our pupils and families to shine. We are passionate educators, both of ourselves and of others, prioritising resources to have the greatest impact, every minute of every day, on the children we serve.
We welcome challenge as this promotes positive change. Our determination to achieve the best outcomes for every individual means that we are relentless in our pursuit of excellence.
Only our best is good enough.
This is us. Humber Education Trust.
Where everybody counts,
every moment matters.

FAQs
What is a MAT?
A Multi-Academy Trust is a group of schools or academies with similar values that have agreed to join together to create a Trust. The Trust runs as a charity with one Board of Trustees and acts as one employer.
The MAT is funded directly by the Department for Education.
Can new schools join HET?
Yes, we welcome conversations with schools who are looking to join a multi-academy trust.

We welcome contact with schools and are always keen to work collaboratively to share thoughts and ideas.
What are the benefits of joining a MAT?
Schools benefit from being a part of a large collaborative family sharing expertise and resources across schools. We celebrate that each school is unique but work together towards the common goal of achieving the best outcomes for all children and staff.
Staff development is easily accessible when MATs have structured career paths for all staff, along with school to support and wider network groups to support subject specialisms.
Having a central team means unlimited support from leaders who have a wealth of experience. They offer operational, financial and school improvement guidance, whilst ensuring that each school maintains their independence.
Further factors to consider can be found in the Confederation of School Trusts Joining a School Trust document.
How autonomous are HET schools?
We are extremely proud of all of our schools and wish them to maintain the independence and autonomy that enables them to meet the needs of the children and young people in their community.
Our schools have control over their school branding, maintaining their name, logo, uniform and school colours. Schools retain their local governing bodies who, along with Headteachers, have autonomy over their curriculum choices. We believe that they are best placed to decide what works best for their children.
We are here as a Trust to support our leaders in their improvement work and to celebrate in their achievements.

"After making the decision, as a Single Academy Trust, to join a Multi Academy Trust, it was essential for us to ensure we joined a Trust whose vision and values aligned with ours. We needed to ensure that the children were absolutely at the heart of everything we embarked upon and without a doubt, Humber Education Trust have been the perfect partnership for us.
The wealth of expertise coupled with collaboration and challenge from the Trust, has allowed us as an academy, to retain our autonomy, as well as make huge strides forwards in providing the very best educational experiences for our children.
We are thrilled with the opportunities provided to us by the Trust and cannot speak highly enough of all members of the team. We are thrilled with how far we have progressed as a school; joining Humber Education Trust has been a privilege. We cannot wait to continue on our journey in the pursuit of further excellence together."
